Meet the Quran is a small, independent project run by Muslim volunteers. We are not scholars, and we don't issue religious rulings. Our aim is simple: to let people read the Qur'an for themselves, and to answer everyday questions about Islam clearly and honestly.
How we handle sources
- Every verse of the Qur'an is shown with its chapter and verse number and links to Quran.com.
- English translation: Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, The Meanings of the Noble Qur'an. Arabic text: Uthmani script. Both come from the Quran Foundation's official API.
- We cite only hadith graded authentic (sahih) or good (hasan), with the collection and number, linked to Sunnah.com.
- Where Muslim scholars hold different views, we say so instead of choosing for you.
- Every page is reviewed by a qualified Islamic scholar before publication. Unreviewed pages are marked as drafts and hidden from search engines.
- Our reviewer: Maulana Ruhul Amin Sekh, Imam, Jama Masjid, Ranmahal Kha Para.
Why we write “Allah”
Allah is the proper name of the Creator in the Qur'an. A name is not translated, so we keep it as it is, as our translator, Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, does. The word has no plural and no gender. Arabic-speaking Jews and Christians have also used it for the One who created the heavens and the earth.
